Bungoma quarry collapse traps two murram harvesters
Police said the accident happened on February 11 in a village in Webuye. Four men had entered a quarry to harvest murram for construction.
A wall of the site collapsed and trapped two of them. Police identified the victims as Evans Juma, 38, and Wycliffe Masika, 28.
Two other men escaped without injuries. Rescuers retrieved the bodies and moved them to a mortuary for postmortem procedures.
Western regional police commander Issa Mohamud said investigators are looking into the circumstances. Residents often visit such sites to obtain murram for building work.

Other students alerted staff and the school rushed him to Ithanga Health Centre. Health workers pronounced him dead on arrival, officials said.
School officials notified the parents and moved the body to a mortuary. Authorities said a postmortem will help establish the cause of death.
